Background:
Rebecca grew up in a normal country bumpkin family. Her Father was in construction and her Mother was a housewife. Rebecca is the oldest of four children. She has two brothers and a Sister. There was nothing outstanding about her childhood. She went to Starfleet Academy after she finished High School.
At Starfleet Academy she discovered a love for flying almost anything they threw at her. She even surprised herself. But she found flying to be fun, exciting, and she loved to take chances. She pushed her abilities to the limit to test herself and every craft she flew. She got better and better until one day in her overconfidence she was involved in an accident. She came out with nothing more than a severely strained back and a bump on the head, but she was lucky. She could have very easily died. It took her a long time to get back in the pilot's seat, but she eventually graduated Starfleet Academy as a pilot, but she had lost her nerve. She is still a good pilot, but tends to be over cautious. In most of her assignments after Starfleet Academy she has been assigned to fly shuttles.
Personality Profile:
Rebecca's personality is outgoing for the most part. She doesn't usually initiate friendships, but has the ability to talk to strangers about almost anything without being shy. In fact she is not shy at all about saying what she thinks if she is asked. However, she has learned over the years to bite her tongue most of the time. Most people have their own opinions about things and she doesn't have the time or inclination to get into arguments over petty things. She believes in what she believes in and realizes that others look at the world from their own perspectives. Just because she doesn't agree with them doesn't make either them or her wrong, just different.
In fact she is very interested in other people. Her ability to listen without judging has many time put her in the position of confidant, a shoulder to cry on, and sometimes even amateur counselor. However she has little time for people who just want to whine. Her philosophy is that life is hard. If you don't like what is happening in your life, change it, get over it, move on. Wallowing in self pity gets no one anywhere.
For the most part, she likes talking to people about almost anything they are interested in, whether she is knowledgeable on the subject or not. If it is something she knows about, she enjoys sharing knowledge. If it is something she knows nothing about, she is eager to learn about something new.
Additional Notes:
Rebecca has a deep seated belief in an old Earth religion called by many names, including among others Wicca, Paganism, or the the Old Ways. She doesn't talk about this unless someone brings it up first. It's not that she is ashamed of shy about her beliefs, but that she believes that every person's spirituality is personal unto them and that no two is alike. There had been too much conflict in the universe fought in the name of one religion or another. She didn't feel the need to preach her own person beliefs to someone who she expected to have beliefs of their own. However if someone is truly interested, she is more than willing to talk about it.
