Bio: Robert Welty grew up on a family farm near the small town of Alma, which is located in Midwestern Wisconsin. He grew up with a great passion for new technologies and Space, even though no one else in his immediate family shared those interests. As a summer vacation, Bob went with Joshua Hoss, his best friend, to Josh's grandparent's home on Mars a few times, which only further influenced his interest in Space. After finally graduating from Alma High School, Bob and his best friend Josh decided to join Starfleet together. Although Bob's parents fully supported the idea, Josh's Father, a retired Starfleet Commander, disagreed with the idea. After Josh finally "convinced" his Father to let him go, Bob and Josh went off to San Francisco and joined Starfleet. While at Academy, Josh and Bob had no problems in school, except for a few problems with a fellow classmate named Barb Bacard. The three of them attended many classes together, and spent a lot of time with each other. A year after graduation, Barb and Josh began dating. A short while later, while Barb was away on assignment, Josh met another woman. Josh was introduced to her by Bob. Bob has always felt guilty about that and thinks about the friendship they all had at one time.
