On an Nor Class station, the main phasers are classified as Type XI. These phasers are capable of producing 8.4 megawatts, with a peak surge of 27.6 MW for 425 milliseconds. Groups of emitters are supplied by redundant sets of energy feeds from the primary trunks of the electro plasma system (EPS).The Type XI is the same as Type X, but, up to 115% power as Type X.

Special safeguards have been installed, as well as total swapout of the faulty model of EPS submaster flow guards. This gives the Nor class station an extremely powerful EPS transfer array for a Starbase. The visible hull surface configuration of the Phaser is a long shallow raised strip, the bulk of the hardware submerged within the vehicle frame. On the Nor Class emitters, these strips are deep gray in color.
