Bio: As most Nausicaans tend to be, Rakka is a very large and ill-tempered individual. She was extremely anti-social growing up and, tired of her sheltered Nausicaan existence among warriors and barbarians, she decided on joining Starfleet against her parents' wishes. As soon as she started at the Academy, she found out why her parents had advised her against it. She came across no other Nausicaans, and most of her peers were either frightened or disgusted at her inherently ugly Nausicaan appearance, especially other females, who she towered over. She faced teasing and negativity from others because of the usual stigma surrounding the notorious Nausicaans, and came to accept that she was socially and physically awkward, and thus unfit for the company of others.

She suffers from low self-esteem and is a very inward person, tending to avoid counselors (especially empathic ones) like the plague. She avoids medical doctors as well, only resorting to them in the case of severe injuries. The main reason is that she hates showing skin, self-conscious of her muscular physique; most of her experiences with doctors have involved the mandatory removal of clothing in order to properly tend to wounds, and this disagrees with her greatly. She also struggles with solitude much of the time, although she tends to bring it on herself and insists she prefers being alone, brushing off others’ attempts at diplomacy. She has temper problems at times, and has been warned, but not severely punished as her race’s tendency is to be gruff and aggressive, and she means no harm or disrespect.

Rakka is rather shy, and tends to stay hunched over much of the time, because she is so self-conscious of her looks and size, and also because she is sensitive to bright lights and prefers a dimmer environment. She comes across as rather rude, but if anyone were to venture close enough to look, her dark eyes sparkle with loneliness and sensitivity.

Despite her aggression and Nausicaan temper, Rakka is a loyal officer and has a deep-rooted attachment to the Federation, even though its individuals have had trouble accepting her, as the first female Nausicaan to join Starfleet. She is easily upset but hides her sensitivity and, when highly emotional or the slightest bit nervous, tends to speak in very simple, primitive English, though she is capable of speaking it flawlessly.

Rakka is a fairly recent graduate of the Federation, and has served for approximately one year on the U.S.S. Zhukov, where she performed faithfully as a security officer (a safe way to release some aggression) and otherwise kept to herself. Her assets are unswerving loyalty, tremendous physical strength, low sensitivity to physical pain, and great proficiency with a phaser. Her limitations include being aggressive, ill tempered, clumsy, socially inept, and severely claustrophobic, suffering panic attacks if stuck in tight spaces.
