"Branch Office"

As the station had just settled in with an entire new crew and a new Commanding Officer, a wormhole started to form outside of the station. Originally thought to be 15 LY's from the station, it was later discovered that in error, it was only 1.7 LY's from the station. Cmdr. Wozniak immediately called for a meeting of the senior staff and prepared a plan to deal with this. One of the three ships permanently stationed at Deep Space 12. The U.S.S. Viper, a Defiant class, was launched to investigate. Cmdr. Ken Wozniak was in the center seat as the ship left the station.

Back on the station, the local bar had a new barman. A Ferengi. Seemingly taking after the Infamous Quark, Lik traveled to Deep Space 12 to try his hand. A Hermat, called Ryoko had hit it off well with Lik and had also bought a shuttle for personal use.

The Viper was headed toward the forming wormhole when Lt. T'Sivak called from the station to inform the Viper that the Venturi had increased their activity in the area. Several minutes after that message came through, Lt. Remy LeBeau warned Wozniak of the Venturi heavy cruiser that was headed toward their present location. The Viper was rocked by a direct hit to her aft section from the Venturi phasers. Remy had got the shields up in time, but they were so close to each other that the warp engines were off-line. As the two ships exchanged fire with each other the Viper lost communications and eventually was able to disable the Venturi ship. As there was no way to communicate with them, Ken ordered the Viper to continue on toward the wormhole at the best possible speed.

Power had just gone out on the station. After a few minutes, everyone realized that it was only the Cardassian power systems that were affected. The Viper arrived at the wormhole just as a Jem'Hadar warship emerged. As the U.S.S. Constitution, which had arrived at the station just as this all started, came up alongside the station, they extended a dampening field around the station which allowed it to come online under its own power and establish it's own dampening field.

The Viper and the Jem'Hadar warship exchanged fire with each other. A small Redemption class fighter came up along side the Viper and added to the support. The Jem'Hadar ship collided with the Viper, damaging the warship bad. The Redemption fighter beamed the Jem'Hadar First off of the warship. The Viper was sent to be repaired and a new Defiant Class ship has been sent to us to replace it. The U.S.S. Cutlass has arrived.

Three Breen soldiers were discovered on the station shortly after the Jem'Hadar First was questioned. It was discovered that the Warship was just a distraction so the Breen could come on board to plant devices throughout the ship in an effort to steal information from the station. They were partly successful. After being discovered, they were taken to the Brig as well. Very little was discovered from the two Breen and the Jem'Hadar. The Jem'Hadar killed himself shortly after he was captured. The two Breen soldiers were transferred to the proper authorities. It was unclear what information had been captured by the Breen, and it may never be know what the full story is. The two Breen escaped from their transport and have not been seen again.

"Power Struggle"

The Cardassian government contacts Deep Space 12 about a rebel uprising on one of their outlying colonies. They requested that a Diplomatic envoy, along with a large group of Marines travel to the colony, in an effort to control a rebel uprising which had already begun. When the group arrived, they found the rebels were much stronger than expected and it was clear this would be no normal Diplomatic mission. Most of the rebels appeared almost superhuman in nature.

Before long the Marines are quickly over powered and are being slaughtered by the hundreds. Reinforcements are then called for from Deep Space 12. The U.S.S. Shillovaa, a Sovereign class starship, played a major part in bringing the reinforcements to the Colony in the effort to rescue their missing friends. Eventually a few of the rebel fighters were captured by the Marines, and after a intensive medical examination, it is discovered that the Cardassian rebels appalled to be genetically altered with what seemed like Gem' Hadar genes, and they are using a substance resembling Ketricel White

. During this time the fighting had intensified to an almost unheard of level. Several of the Marines and a few others who are along with the Diplomatic team were captured. There were reports of torture and abuse of the Federation prisoners who were captured, however, the full extent of the damage caused by the torture is still being determined. With the arrival of the reinforcements on the U.S.S. Shillovaa, and this new information, the Marines are now able to turn the tide on the rebels and regain control of the Cardassian Colony. Most all of the captured crew are returned alive, although a few suffered some permanent injuries. The Deep Space 12 Marine corp. lost more than half of their fellow officers in what could be one of the most intense battles in the station's history.

"Dealing With Demons"

Upon the return of the Marines from the Cardassian colony, a rash of violence broke out on the station. Fighting and the eventual killing of a random chicken that had somehow made its way onto the station resulted in the confinement of several of the station's crew. The chicken had flown out of the Orion's Belt bar and directly in the path of Resh Hadar, Major O'Connel, and Jake Calten. Immediately all three drew their phasers and Resh was the first to get the shot off, killing the chicken. Resh was arrested on the spot. After some research into the issue, it was discovered that Resh was suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, resulting from the capture and torture he was put through by the Cardassians on the colony their previous mission had taken them too.

A JAG trial was later proposed by some, however, it was quickly established that those who wished to nail Resh were out of line and were looking for a reason to go after Deep Space 12 and her crew. Upon further review of the entire situation, Resh's punishment was a Official Reprimand, and a stay of his pending promotion for 90 days. The result of the potential JAG trial also ended up improving the station and its crew exponentially. The chicken incident will go down in the history books.

Resh continued treatment with the station's councilor and remained off duty for the next several weeks. Upon review of his mental state it was clear he was more than ready to return to duty. Resh was reinstated without prejudice and later promoted to Ensign upon his graduation of the Academy. The remaining crewman involved in the mission were all relieved of duty for 3 days while each was examined for PTSD in an effort to ensure that the same type of incident did not repeat itself.

"In Sheep's Clothing"

After a recent attempt to abduct the Ambassador on Deep Space 12, the Marines on the station form a plan to use an existing freighter to hide in and go out into the surrounding area in an attempt to lure out those responsible. The freighter had been used by the pirates to sneak into the station. After the attempt was discovered, the pirates attempted to leave the station, breaking away from the docking clamps. Quick thinking on the part of the Ops team, and a few of the Marines who were flying on patrol enabled the freighter to be disabled and placed in Cargo Bay 6. Upon the capture of the freighter, a team of Marines and Security personnel stormed the freighter and ended up in armed combat. Most of the remaining crew on the freighter were killed in the firefight, as they fought to the death. Two of the pirates were captured and taken to the brig. Upon a thorough examination of them, it was discovered that they were in fact genetically altered. It is not clear if they are related in any way to the soldiers on the Cardassian colony.

Hiding two of the station fighters in the cargo hold of the freighter, a small group Marines, set out to locate the source of the problems. Using information discovered in the freighters flight control computer, the Marines set out on the same course as the freighter had been planned to take. Thinking they will find Pirates in the area, it is expected to be a routine mission with little risk. Upon gaining entrance to the pirate stronghold, they break into the computer using what is thought to be a back door loop hole. Little do they know it is a trap and the pirate base has been set up by a strong house in the Klingon Empire to raid Cardassian trading lines. They are caught and after a short skirmish they break out of the stronghold with every available pirate freighter on their tail firing on them. Unfortunately there are 2 Klingon Warbirds waiting for them intent on destroying all evidence of their activities.

The Ruszha Kla Nare would have been destroyed except for the intervention of the U.S.S. Peacekeeper between them and the Warbirds. While the Peacekeeper distracts the Klingons, the Kreyser swoops in and beams out the Kla Nare's crew from the fatally wounded freighter. They all head back to Deep Space 12at top speed with the fake information they have gained. The angry Klingons follow. After a short lived and heated discussion back on Deep Space 12, the issue was resolved without incident.

January/February 2002

"Mutant Brymer"

After the return of the Marines, the station begins to experience a load of problems with the central computer systems. Flight control seems to be the system affected the most. As the crew work day and night in an attempt to resolve the issue, more and more systems are affected. The LMH is taken Off-line due to problems related to the virus.

Incoming ships are being handled through Ops at a decent rate of speed manually. Shortly before the U.S.S. Armageddon arrives, an explosion, caused by a grenade thrown by an unknown person, injuring Major O'Connel and a few others, sending her to the Infirmary. Later the same day there was another grenade explosion, the person who threw the grenade was killed when the plan backfired on him and the grenade rolled back toward him.

Ensign N`tran and Crewman Burgess solved the virus while working onboard the U.S.S. Phantom. They improvised a transmitter out of spare parts so it would be virus free, they also found out what the Brymer virus should of been from DS9. After reviewing the information that they had accumulated Ensign N`tran and Crewman Burgess sent a worm program through Deep Space 12's computer systems to eat the Brymer virus and clear it from Deep Space 12's computer systems. Also The solution to the Bio-gel packs infection happened to be an old antibiotic called penicillin.

"An Empire Lost"

Out of the blue the I.K.S. Pagh is attacked by an unknown alien species and sustained heavy damage. They raced back to Deep Space 12with these aliens not far behind. Ships were quickly dispatched from Deep Space 12 to help protect the Pagh. The Pagh is taken inside the station's shields as soon as it neared Deep Space 12, however, the aliens did not break off their attack. Commander Wozniak ordered torpedoes launched and one of the alien's ships is easily destroyed. Unfortunately there is not much left to analyze as the ship is practically vaporized. The other alien ships retreat back toward a planet in the Cardassian's space.

The Klingons feel that their honor has been besmirched and gather a fleet of ships to go to finish off the aliens. In the mean time, it is slowly discovered from minute remains of the ship that has been destroyed that the aliens are an Ursine Species (bears). Also from analyzing all recorded data on the mystery race, the Marines devise training drills to prepare to meet any additional threat from the Ursine species.

While doing a routine auxiliary power test on the station, the Marines do an emergency action drill for the readiness of the fighter pilots. After observing the pilot's performance, Major Kailee O'Connel and Major Tavington, among others, take the Delta Flyer Class Runabout that the O'Connel's got as a wedding present for a trip around the perimeter of the star system. While in the asteroid belt on the outer rim of the system, they are attacked by a scout ship of the aliens that was hiding there and observing the station.

The Runabout makes a controlled crash landing on one of the larger asteroids. The alien ship is also damaged and is not so lucky in their landing. While the ship has power, their life support is knocked out. The other ship loses all but a few of it's crew and all power. While Commander Wozniak and others launch a rescue mission to find the missing Runabout, Major O'Connel makes a hasty decision to try to come to the aid of the aliens that they now know, from a mental scan done by Captain Zoe Maekaanzae, are called the Huk'nar.

Just as the Commander and his crew finds the lost Flyer, the Major and her companions are meeting the Huk'nar for the first time. However the power transfer from the Delta Flyer to the alien's ship causes the Flyer's core to breach. All Starfleet personnel and the Huk'nar are transferred to the Cutlass just before it explodes. The High Priestess of the Huk'nar agrees to come back to the station to meet with representatives of the Federation. It turns out the Huk'nar's hostility comes from having been driven out of the Gamma quadrant and all their home systems by the Dominion. They have lived a wandering life since then, fighting for their very existence. While this has been going on, the Klingons have been attacking the remaining Huk'nar Fleet.

The Huk'Nar ships do not come out too good in the deal and again make a run for Deep Space 12. They arrive just as the High Priestess is beamed aboard the U.S.S. Cutlass. She convinces her people to stand down while she tries to talk to the Federation representatives. The Klingons are also ordered to stand down and do so reluctantly. While on the station, two assassination attempts are made on the Huk'nar High Priestess. One by a Cardassian Ambassador's aide and one points to Romulan activity. At that time the Klingon Fleet attacks an Intel runabout trying to gather information on the Klingon's intentions. Ships from the station launch to the Intel ship's aid. The Klingons attack in force. Not knowing who to trust, it is decided to transfer the negotiations to Earth. Commander Wozniak accompanies the delegates and the Huk'nar on the U.S.S. Arete as it leaves before the Klingon's can reach the station. The Klingons are finally defeated when a cloaked Romulan fleet comes to the aid of the Federation. Heavy casualties are sustained by all parties involved. The Huk'nar included.

"Sphere of Influence"

While the U.S.S. Arete is on it's way to Earth, a casual conversation between High Priestess Val'ania of the Huk'nar and Commander Ken Wozniak reveals that the Huk'nar might have the technology to put the sun in the Dyson's Sphere to rights and control the solar flares that make it uninhabitable. After a lengthy conversation between the Commander and some of the Huk'nar Aahrn (scientists), the Admirals in the Federation delegation there to negotiate with the Huk'nar decide to consult with Starfleet Command.

The U.S.S. Arete is immediately diverted to the Dyson Sphere. Commander Wozniak sends a message to Deep Space 12 to launch a mission to meet them there. The U.S.S. Cutlass is loaded with the station's senior staff and heads for the Sphere to meet with Ken and the Arete. A large potion of the Huk'Nar fleet follows the Cutlass on it's month long trip. With little or no events hampering the trip, the Cutlass and the Arete arrive at almost the same time.

Ken quickly meets up with N'tran, who fills him in on the Toga party that took place at the halfway point of their trip. After further talks on the Arete, and agreement is reached between the Cardassians, the Federation, and the Huk'Nar for space inside the Sphere for the Huk'Nar to resettle. Just as the Treaty is signed, a massive solar flare erupts from the sun, starting a massive forest fire on the inner surface of the Sphere. The fire is quickly put out with the help of the Cutlass. As the final details are put into place, the Cutlass, and newly promoted Captain Wozniak, start their return trip to Deep Space 12, having completed their assignment, they are no longer needed at the sphere. The trip home is uneventful, although boring.

"Power-Hungry"

A plot is afoot to overthrow the leader of Ferenginar, Grand Nagus Rom. A distress call came in from the Ferengi owned freighter Tradewind, and the freighter U.S.S. Silver Nova. They had engine problems and casualties caused by a engine coolant leak. Both were rescued by the U.S.S. Phantom and have made their way to Deep Space 12 to begin repairs.

The Ferengi conspirators plan to use Deep Space Twelve as a continuing meeting place, however, the conspirators have moved elsewhere after Ferengi loyal to the Grand Nagus arrived on Deep Space Twelve. Before they could depart however, a large portion of the conspirators Nausicaan security forces were arrested after they were confronted in the Promenade area for possession of illegal weapons. Much is learned from many of the Nausicaans after extensive questioning.

The injuries from the Silver Nova have been treated and all have survived without any permanent injuries. The Ferengi ship, Golden Greed has been boarded and searched for illegal weapons and once the weapons have been found, it raises it shields, prompting a massive response from the station and surrounding ships. The original boarding party that had been sent to search the ship in the first place managed to take over the Engine room, and the incident comes to a quick end.

The remaining Nausicaans on the station have been arrested or deported without much trouble. The arrival of the U.S.S. Borman, commanded by no on other than Lt. Cdr Diesel was a pleasant surprise. Also arriving is a new Chief Medical Officer Doctor Brenan Gard, with the rank of Lt.(jg),as well as Lieutenant junior grade T'Coran, Deep Space 12's Chief Science Officer and the Romulan Ambassador, Trelien.

The repairs to Pylon two are almost completed, allowing life support to be restored. A sensor reading in Ops indicates a possible Breen Ship, runabout sized, in the outer asteroid belt of the Terminus system, however, and extensive search involving a pile of ships reveals the cause to be a simple collision between two asteroids.

Shortly after calm is restored, it is broken once again by a Borg Sphere emerging from Transwarp 1.16 LY from the station and the Ypres-B, the Phantom, the Hubble, the Electra, and the the Cutlass intercept the Sphere. With Captain Wozniak on the Cutlass, Lt. Kolmik is left as the acting Commanding Officer of Deep Space 12 and Ensign Smithers as the XO.

A detailed investigation by Doctor Gard shows the Nausicaans had a viral poison on the knife blades used in the fight. An employee of Orion's Belt who was wounded in the bar fight dies, and three others are hospitalized, including Maggie Fox, and Lieutenant Karla Shale. Doctor Gard, and Science Officer T'Coran perform an autopsy on the deceased employee of Orion's Belt to determine the exact method of the virus's attack.

The only surviving drone of the Borg Sphere, Four of Ten, and Captain Wozniak reach an agreement to allow boarding parties to attempt to repair the Sphere, in an effort to allow the drone to return to the Collective. Parties beam over to the Sphere, to gather information and start repairs. Four of Ten expresses an interest in being removed from the Collective. The first attempt to do so is nearly fatal to the drone. On Deep Space Twelve, Doctor Gard manages to find a cure for the Nausicaan viral poison involving incorporating human DNA into Huk'Nar white blood cells.

"Pakled Menace"

Lieutenant Shale, and Maggie Fox have recovered from their wounds made by Nausicaan knives. Quezak, the Ferengi newest owner of Orion's Belt is kidnapped by Pakleds.

The H'bit, a Pakled ship, docks at Deep Space Twelve, and someone on board manages to stumble across a Deep Space Twelve command code while attempting to put in an airlock security code. The Cutlass, Phantom, Ypres-B and Electra have started towing the Borg Sphere slowly toward Deep Space Twelve. Ensign Chraris Siklver, Deep Space 12's new Assistant Chief Medical Officer arrives just as Doctor Gard prepares for the surgery to remove Four of Ten's cranial node. The operation is interrupted before it can start due to massive system problems on the station. A fire starts in ore processing when the force fields handling molten metal collapse. The fire kills two Pakleds, severely injures two more, and endangers Doctor Gard, PO Bla'ik, and the Borg drone, Four of Ten.

Lieutenant Shale and Maggie Fox both decided to leave the infirmary without a doctor's permission, and grab phasers on the way out. The Pakleds start looting the station during all the chaos. The Ypres-B sends in reinforcements to the station's Engineering and Security teams and the fire in ore processing is finally brought under control.

The two injured Pakleds are transferred to the Infirmary and treated. The Pakleds killed in the fire are returned to the H'bit. Ensign Cyarus digs into the main computer to attempt to dislodge whoever is controlling the computer, overriding the command codes. He is partly successful, but perishes in the attempt.

The U.S.S. Hubble detects a possible cloaked ship, but it turns out to be an error in the ship's sensors. The Tradewinds and the Ypres-B feed power into the station, helping the power shortage as Ensign Smithers heads to the H'bit to attempt to rescue Quezak, followed by Maggie Fox. The surgery, postponed for long enough, on Four of Ten is moved to the DeForest Kelley shipyards. The U.S.S. Darkstar has just arrived at the station.

Ensign Black has been injured from a power surge and taken to the Infirmary for treatment after playing with the station's sensor grid. Maggie Fox has discovered the weakness of the Pakleds. It turns out that a simple pile of M&M's works wonders. Maggie manages to stumble across Quezak and Ensign Smithers on the H'bit and is able to rescue them using the newly discovered weakness, a bag of M&M's. N'tran, who was on the H'bit to return the deceased Pakleds, teams up with Maggie to rescue Quezak, and Kira. N'tran learns of the Pakled's weakness from Maggie, and exploits it. The H'bit's Captain, Gawlum trades the Command codes for Deep Space 12 for the recipe for the M&M's. The H'bit soon departs solving the many problems plaguing the station.

February/March/April 2003

"Galaxy Week"

Galaxy Week begins and the planning gets underway for the Workbee Rodeo as well as many other events on the Promenade and Orion's Belt.

Captain Wilkson of the U.S.S. Darkstar has been arrested and relieved of duty after he exceeded his authority, while at the same time, Ambassador Trelien has blown his cover as a Tal'Shiar agent.

The U.S.S. Electra limps back to Deep Space 12 nearly disabled. A team from the U.S.S. Cutlass has been sent to begin a second exploration of the Borg Sphere and manages to recover some equipment from the remains. Lt. T'Coran had been blinded and deafened by a mechanical entity that somehow makes mental contact with her. The surgery of Four of Ten is completed without any further issues.

Plans are made in an attempt to control the Borg Sphere, however, the Sphere suddenly self destructs before the plans for control can be implemented. Lt. T'Coran seems to still be in some kind of telepathic contact with the probe inside the Sphere. Trelien announces the decision to resign the Ambassadorship and from the Tal'Shiar just as the Valentines Day Dance begins, the New Year’s celebration of Stardate 55000 also takes place.

The arrival of Ensign Rakka, our new Nausicaan Security Officer is quickly marred as it is discovered that Lt. Shale has been kidnapped and is being interrogated by her captors. Lt. Varlem takes it upon himself to head out looking for the Lt. in an attempt to rescue her. As the WorkBee Rodeo begins, Lt. Fox realizes that Lt. Shale is gone missing. Lt. Varlem is successful in his attempt to locate Lt. Shale and rescues her, however, he is lost in the effort.

Complications of the mind meld on the Borg Sphere result in Lieutenant T'Coran being admitted to the Infirmary.

In the third event of the WorkBee Rodeo, Commander Scott Wozniak has been disqualified for losing his cargo during his run.

The five events of the Rodeo are:

Parts Recovery.

Cleaning Sensor Panels.

A Race Towing N'tran Around Pylons One, Two, and Three.

Precision Cargo Handling.

Acrobatics.

There is an SOS from Ensign Kolidok, adrift in a disabled workbee and Captain Wozniak quickly responds and eventually locates the Workbee. Ensign Woods wins the acrobatics, performing ballet in a Workbee to the music of Swan Lake. Cadet Xerys Rauxane has won the race towing N'tran around the pylons, with a heavily modified workbee. Ensign Sinar Kolidok's workbee is finally brought into the hanger bay on Deep Space Twelve, by Captain Ken Wozniak.

The Infirmary has several patients, including Lieutenant T'Coran, and turns more chaotic, with party preparations and the arrival of a Ferengi, bleeding, with burns, a bumped head and a missing tooth. More of the Nausicaan detainees are transferred off the station. The removal has been handled by the new female Nausicaan Starfleet officer, Ensign Rakka. Lt. Kolmik reports a new addition to his staff as Warrant Officer d'Nyal Tuk reports to the Orion for an assignment. It is established that Lieutenant T'Coran came into contact with nanoprobes, though these nanoprobes should have been inactive. The Medical Staff's party, in the Replimat attracts more people and gets rather rowdy.

April/May/June 2003

"Infiltration"

N'Tran asks Trelien if T'Coran could have come into contact with some of his nanoprobes, and he replies in the affirmative. It is soon revealed that T'Coran is becoming assimilated.

In the mean time, the medical staff party is having a slow start, but soon gets going great guns when some of the crew begin drinking games. Dr. Gard and Ensign Smithers appear at the medical staff party and both are surprised by a promotion. Also showing up at the party is 4 of 10 who has recently awakened from his surgery to Dessimilate him. Also arriving at the party is a new Security officer, a Nausicaan by the name of Ensign Rakka. During the ceremony to promote Ensign Smithers and Dr. Gard, the Doctor's pips are slam dunked into PO1 Quanos' beer mug, to the amusement of everyone.

Intel Officer, WO2 d'Nyal Tuk, tracks down the Captain at the medical staff party so he can report in. The new Intel officer is a Borg hunter and he instinctively wants to confront the ex Borg and is stopped by Lt. Smithers. Word of the assimilation of T'Coran is leaking out of the Infirmary, causing some concern for WO2 d'Nyal Tuk. Commander N'Tran is pumping 4 of 10 for information on how the assimilation process works. It comes to light that the new Intel officer, d'Nyal Tuk has information on Borg activity in the area that he is to present at a briefing the next day. With the Borg activity in the area of Deep Space 12, StarFleet is concerned that Section 31 may be conducting an operation involving the Borg or Borg technology on Deep Space 12 and possibly Deep Space 9 as well.

In the Infirmary T'Coran is having frightening nightmares as her assimilation continues. WO3 Fred Figg returns to the station and finds that the new Intel operation is now available to use. When he tracks down the newest arrival to be assigned to Deep Space 12, WO2 Tuk, he also finds the XO with him. N'Tran pays Lt. Kolmik in gold coin for eating the hole in the wall of the Intel complex. The winners of the work bee rodeo are announced. The Marines are slowly being transferred off the station as is has been decided that Security can handle any situation that arises. While in Ops, Cmdr. N'Tran notices an energy spike and dispatches Lt. Fox to investigate. A new set of pips is found for Cmdr. N'Tran who has lost his when his are hit by phaser fire from a Nausicaan, in a bar fight at Orion's Belt.

Suddenly for no reason the doors aboard the station start to randomly open and close of their own accord. In Ops a surge is discovered in the sensors that is making the doors open and close. Worried about the fire in Pylon 4, N'Tran hurries to that location to contain toxic fumes that are escaping. Ensign Woods is monitoring the Ops console trying to track down the cause of this data surge. Lt. Fox reports in that the energy spike detected appears to have come from the complete destruction of a large ship. It is discovered that the doors opening and closing is being caused by some sort of strange signal being sent to the station. Captain Wozniak heads to the Infirmary to check on T'Coran. Cmdr. N'Tran is given a gift for his help in negotiations for the Ferengi which turns out to be a Horta egg. A briefing by WO2 Tuk on Borg activity in the area is set to begin soon. Lt. Fox calls for someone to come collect samples of the ship that has blown up and then starts out to follow an ion trail leading away from the scene of destruction. He loses the trail when he discovers that the ship has gone to warp and his fighter can not keep up with it. He is about to return to the station when another ship drops out of warp right above him.

At the briefing, N'Tran is showing off his new found egg. Lt Cmdr. Diesel was sitting in for Lt. Shale of Engineering when it is discovered that she is missing from the station. WO2 Tuk gives his briefing. In the Infirmary, a large tank opens spilling biomemetic compound all over the floor in a tidal wave of blue gel. WO2 Tuk reveals that the Borg has "assimilated" the use of cloaking technology and also that it is believed that a splinter cell of Section 31 is fooling around with using Borg transwarp conduits for their own purposes. Also that known Intel Agents have been disappearing. Lt Kolmik states that he has known most of this for a while. He also states that he has liberated the plans for "plugs", or Genesis Torpedoes, for the conduits from Section 31. While he was at it he erased their copies of their plans with a nasty "virus" for their computer. Deep Space 12 is tasked with mapping the conduits in their area. Cmdr. N'Tran states that he believes Kolmik's virus might have slowed down Section 31, but not stopped them. It is wondered if the disappearances of Lt. Shale and Lt. Varlem might have something to do with this splinter cell. It is determined that T'Coran has another entity inside her and there is talk of how to separate the two. Kolmik discloses that he has already used one of his "plugs" to close a conduit on the Borg, and proposes sending a probe to find out just what had happened at the destruction of the conduit, however, the briefing breaks up when the doors of the conference room keep opening and closing on their own and they believe the room is not secure. Figg and Tuk are put in charge of sending the probe to where the Genesis Torpedo has been used. Lt. Kolmik is called to the maternity ward.

While on the way to Ensign Woods' quarters after finding the location of her cat, the turbolift malfunctions and Rebecca hurts her hip in the fall. Cmdr. N'Tran tries to contact Lt. Fox and gets no response. He asks Ops to investigate. N'tran then heads to Science to research assimilation where he finds that above Drones, but below the Queen, there are amplifiers of the Queen's orders. These Borg are a step closer to Perfection, than the drones. They seem to exist as a computer program of a mental pattern, or consciousness deposited in a mechanical shell. It is unclear which. These "more perfect" Borg seem to be important to the Collective. The ship that has dropped out of warp near Lt. Fox is found to contain Lt. Shale. Suddenly a Borg Sphere appears outside Deep Space 12. causing a Red Alert. The new sphere has appeared at the same coordinates as the last one the 4 of 10 was on before it was destroyed.

Lt. 's. Fox and Shale bravely, or foolishly decide to try to distract the Borg Sphere to give the station time to ready their defenses. Intelligence launches probes toward the Borg Bowl, and a communication comes in from the Bowl, a Borg Queen is making an offer to make a trade. In planning for the Away Team mission to rescue Lt. Shale, the use of projectile weapons is proposed by Ensign Sorgman. Lt. T'Coran has been fully assimilated. Negotiations between the Queen and the Captain begin. The proposal includes the trade of the "General" for T'Coran and Lt. Shale. The Nispel is launched on an Intel mission toward the Bowl and the Oasis Star soon follows them out on a separate rescue mission in an attempt to retrieve Lt. Shale. Intel's probe detects Lt. Shale's Bio signature inside the Borg Bowl. The second rescue plan is now put into motion. The existence of more than one Borg Queen is also confirmed. Also a theory is developed regarding the entity that resides within T'Coran. It is known that Drones are the third ranking, tertiary, with the Queen ranked as primary; the Generals should be ranked secondary.

The U.S.S. Hubble cloaks and starts toward the Bowl. Lt. Kolmik abducts a Drone and beams back to the Nispel with plans to attempt to De-assimilate the drone. The rescue team on the Oasis Star has docked at the Borg Bowl. Two more Spheres have emerged from the Transwarp Conduit and beam Shale and the Queen away from the Bowl which self destructs. The two Orion class scouts take shelter behind the station and ride out the subspace shockwave behind the station. Captain Wozniak agrees to make the trade for Shale. The Subspace shockwave from the self destruction of the Borg Bowl shakes up the station and the two scouts hiding behind it. The Captain and Dr. Gard launch in the Beeblebrox to deliver the General to the Sphere. The Borman also launches to assist the Beeblebrox if needed. On the way there, the Captain and company are beamed off the Beeblebrox by long range transporter to the Borg Sphere. The Borman detects the beam out and increases to maximum warp toward the Sphere.

Intel continues to analyze the Borg "Song". 4 of 10 acts very much like he is drunk after eating a piece of pumpkin pie. The Borg keep their part of the bargain, removing the General, and not attacking Deep Space Twelve. The U.S.S. Frank Borman transports Captain Wozniak, Doctor Gard, Lieutenants Shale and T'Coran off the Borg Sphere, and then starts back to the station, as the Borg Spheres turn and set course toward the Transwarp conduit access point. It is also learned that certain spices in pumpkin pie have a psychoactive effect on members of Species 125, raising the possibility of chemical warfare against the Borg Queen. Salvage operations start on the wreckage of the Borg Bowl. Jake Calten dies in a bar fight with a Nausicaan.

"Tangled Web"

Ambassador Trelien and Lieutenant Dane die when Dane's experiment on nanoprobes goes horribly wrong. The U.S.S. Frank Borman arrives back at Deep Space Twelve as the two Borg Spheres drop into a transwarp conduit. Section 31 activity has been spotted on Deep Space Twelve causing some concern.

WO2 William Hapner and Ensign Jo'tin arrive on Deep Space 12 to begin their assignment to the station. Quezak manages to electrocute himself after a fist fight with Maggie Fox. An investigation into this incident has begun. Lieutenant Varlem has apparently disappeared, resulting in another investigation. Lt. Kolmik soon discovers finds that Quezak may not have been accidentally electrocuted. Maggie Fox has been arrested in relation to the death of Quezak after admitting that she struck him. WO 2 d'Nyal Tuk has been promoted to Figg's old job and that comes with the new rank of WO3. The U.S.S. Pathfinder is also due to stop by Deep Space 12. The explosion that killed Quezak was found to be Romulan in origin. It has been announced that Quezak has left his wealth to Maggie because he was in love with her. WO3 d'Nyal Tuk searches Quezak's shuttle for further insight into his death.

The U.S.S. Phantom prepares to head out for it's six week mission in the Cardassian union, patrolling the boarder between the Huk'Nar planets, and Cardassian territory. Lt. Cmdr. N'tran is in charge with Lieutenant Commander Diesel, Ensign Rakaa and a few others on board with him. A message comes in from the Huk'Nar, Drosk, requesting that he and Healer Priestess Col'enia come along. The U.S.S. Pathfinder is headed in toward Deep Space 12.

The U.S.S. Phantom has launched on it's mission. Commander N'tran reports that the U.S.S. Phantom may be haunted by the ghost of the long since departed chicken. Maggie is released to d'Nyal Tuk's custody after it is found she is not responsible for the death of Quezak. Ensign Kolidok gets promoted one rank and to assistant Chief of Security. Splinter cell 31 is found to be using Borg Tech in it's quest. A probe is launched toward the transwarp conduit to watch for further ship traffic.

d'Nyal Tuk suspects the possibility of Robert Varlem being a Splinter Cell 31 operative. The station prepares for the possibility of wounded after receiving a call from the U.S.S. Vanguard. Shortly after the information on Varlem is discovered, he is found dead in his holding cell.

The U.S.S. Cutlass prepares to aid the U.S.S. Vanguard. Dr Guard, Joe Fox, Lt. Smithers, Ensign Sage, PO Welty, PO1 Quanos and Ensign David Black are among the crew joining Captain Wozniak. As the Cutlass prepares to leave the station for the rescue mission, Ensign Sorgman is promoted to Lt.(jg) and assigned temporary duty as action station CO in the absence of Captain Wozniak. He is also assigned the permanent role of Assistant Chief of Operations. Dr. Gard reports that he has Sickbay on the U.S.S. Cutlass almost up to speed and is ready for anything.

The U.S.S. Cutlass has just departed the station and is now on course at Warp 8 toward the U.S.S. Vanguard. Along the way, the U.S.S. Phantom makes a stop to lend some aid to a starship of unknown origin. Lt. Joseph Fox is killed in a fight on the Promenade by the same Klingon involved in the attempted murder of Maggie Fox. An investigation begins. Please welcome Lt.(jg) T'Mal, our new Chief Science Officer.

The U.S.S. Cutlass is nearing the present location of the disabled U.S.S. Vanguard. The briefing on the situation has begun as the Cutlass slows to Impulse. WO3 d'Nyal Tuk reports that he has discovered some interesting news in regards to Quezak and his death. Meanwhile, the Runabout U.S.S. Hawkeye is preparing to receive the Ambassador from the Vanguard once he is stabilized. Special conditions are needed for safe transport of the Ambassador.

Once the U.S.S. Cutlass has locked onto the U.S.S. Vanguard, Captain Wozniak as well as repair and medical teams are beamed over. The Runabout has been released from the tractor beam of the U.S.S. Cutlass and has taken up position very close to the U.S.S. Vanguard. After a brief discussion with Captain Morgan, Captain Wozniak has learned a great deal and a lot of unanswered questions have been answered. The U.S.S. Cutlass takes the U.S.S. Vanguard in tow and sets course for Deep Space 12 at full impulse. Shortly after the ships get under way, the U.S.S. Vanguard explodes. Half of her crew as well as Ensign Sage and Ensign Siklver are killed while Welty and Lt. Smithers just barely escape the explosion on the U.S.S. Vanguard.

A Tholian ship has just arrived accusing the U.S.S. Vanguard of attacking their disabled ship remaining inside the Ion storm. The Warp core from the U.S.S. Vanguard survived the explosion and is drifting. The Hawkeye is dispatched to try and pick it up. During questioning, Captain Morgan becomes very uncooperative when questioned about the Tholian ship that is threatening the Cutlass.

The Ambassador has hijacked the Hawkeye and begins talking with the Tholian ship before it sets a course back to Deep Space 12. Captain Wozniak orders the Warp core from the Vanguard destroyed as it floats near the Tholian ship. The Tholian ship is disabled and allows the Cutlass to go to warp in pursuit of the Hawkeye. Several Life Pods from the Vanguard are detected and rescue operations begin. Soon after rescue operations have been completed, the Cutlass has caught up with the runabout and the Ambassador is beamed directly into the Brig. The LMH gets some real use as the Cutlass begins it's return trip to Deep Space 12 as Captain Wozniak faces off with the Ambassador in the Cutlass' Brig shortly before the Cutlass returns to the station and docks. The discussion does not go well, however, The U.S.S. Phantom's mission is going along at a decent pace.

"Home Sweet Home"

A vial containing a virus is dropped in the Infirmary releasing the virus into the air of the Infirmary. The Quarantine fields go up within seconds, however, a small lizard of unknown origin escapes before they are in place. Just as the LMH is given a Portable Emitter and now allowed to roam the station as he sees fit. Ensign Jack Carter joins the crowd quarantined in the Sickbay just as Dr. Gard announces that the virus is transmitted by touch only, except for Betazoids. Lt.(jg) T'Mal has reconfigured the station's sensors to track the lizard's life signs and has located the critter and soon beams the thing into a holding cage surrounded by containment fields.

The U.S.S. Viper is finally returned to Deep Space 12 and is assigned to the Shipyard until further solutions can be arranged. More reports of ghosts come in from the Phantom.

Mr. Hapner completes his mission of capturing Delvin Roon on Deep Space 9. The U.S.S. Phantom intervenes in a confrontation between the Cardassians and the Huk'Nar. Chief Science Officer T'Mal makes some recommendations about modifications to life support systems in order to combat the virus while Captain Wozniak makes a station wide announcement regarding the virus and it's affects. Thankfully the Shipyard is not affected by the quarantine.

Ensign Torka Bythis has discovered a possible cure for the virus. It seems as though the Angosian Spider contains a natural antidote within it's DNA. The investigation is complete and the cause of Quezak's death has been determined. A Romulan listening device equipped with a self destructive booby trap is to blame.

The quarantine of the Infirmary and the Transporter rom is soon lifted. The cure found by Ensign Bythis seems to be working effectively. The station's LMH begins to experience more serious problems than normal.

As an argument breaks out near the main Security Office, the commotion caused by this argument aids in the escape of James Sutton, a passerby who is now in the Brig. It is determined that Lt. Letheb is aiding the man. During the escape effort, Mr. Sutton throws several grenades into the Promenade, killing several and damaging the bar's main entrance. As the situation grows worse, Gul Jarvok Du'relle offers any assistance to clean up the mess.

During a shootout in the bar, Captain Wozniak is shot at point blank range. The man who shot him is killed in the exchange. The LMH is finally back online. Soon after, Captain Wozniak takes some time to heal from his exchange with the "James" character. Repairs to the Orion's Belt have begun.

"Consoles and Crayons"

Dr. Brenan Gard has passed away. Fortunately, there was enough advanced notice that the Gard symbiont was saved. Captain Wozniak conducts an inspection of the Security Office in an effort to get his mind off of the death of his friend, Brenan. While Commander N'tran continues to look over the LMH's failure, the repairs to the U.S.S. Electra are finally completed.

The strange alien ship that has been shadowing the U.S.S. Phantom on her return trip home has taken up an orbit around the 8th planet of the Terminus system. All attempts at communication have failed as of yet. N'tran also notices a strange harmonic frequency, on the same lines as brainwaves on the short range scanners. It is quickly tracked to the ship parked near the North Pole of the star taking on fuel. Lt. Sared, who is visiting Deep Space 12 for a short while and will be filling in as our Chief Science Officer and Commander N'tran deliver an initial report about the emissions of the orbiting ship. The affects of the emissions from the unidentified ship have begun to affect the crew of the station, causing some of them to begin to act like children. Lt. Sared has been able to identify the particles that are causing this affect. A preliminary report shows that about 80% of the existing people on the station can be affected by these particles. The LMH discovers the growth hormone in most of the humanoid races that seem to be affected by the emissions is lower and slightly off center. Commander N'tran determines the ship causing the problems is a sleeper ship.

Commander N'tran boards the U.S.S. Phantom and prepares to depart toward the star and the ship that is the cause of the emissions As he makes his way toward the visiting ship, N'tran quickly realized that someone had been playing around with the computer systems. Repairs take a while and delay his scheduled time of arrival as he is manning the ship by himself.

The funeral for the former bartender is completed by Sev and Sev alone. His casket is jettisoned into space also containing some of the Ferengi's personal belongings.

Commander N'tran pulls up near the ship and encounters problems from the ship's refueling efforts, however, the Commander has quickly come up with a solution to the requirements of the alien ship and it's refueling requests. Launching three unarmed photon torpedoes toward them does the trick. He has the ghost of Quezak and the chicken from years gone by to thank for the inspiration.

The alien ship has gathered up the three unarmed torpedoes and seems to have completed it's mission. It has left without incident, however, it never responded to any hails and very little more is known about it. THe U.S.S. Phantom returns to the station and docks. Ensign Black is injured by the computer systems of the station.

Captain Wozniak is yanked inside of a jefferies tube by an unknown attacker. Lt. Sorgman is on his way to the rescue and manages to catch up with what turns out to be a creature that has drug the Captain away. As the Lt. catches the thing, he tries to get off a shot to kill the creature. The attempt fails, resulting in the Lt. being severely injured. Wozniak manages to pick up the phaser dropped in the skirmish between the creature and Lt. Sorgman. With a bit of luck, Ken is able to kill the beast and summon help.

The affects of the emissions from the visiting ship are now wearing off, the child like behavior is starting to let up.

"A Little Whine"

It had been two weeks since the alien ship had left the area. Thankfully, the affects had passed without any further incident. The minor repairs that were needed from the activities of the children had all been completed, and the Phantom had docked.

The station is running smoothly until a cooling pipes breaks. Commander Scott Wozniak, the Captains Brother, is caught in the downpour of water on Docking Pad C. Gravity is turned off near docking pad C during repairs. Macet Demak, under the pretense of rescuing Scott as he free floats in the water, fires a Cardassian Phaser at him. Demak then takes off in a stolen type 11 shuttle. Scott is saved by Ensign Jo’tin, who takes him to the infirmary.

The Captain is down in the infirmary as Ensign Heart has been brought in, having been injured in a freak accident. Danica Prahhaven is present for testing, as she involved herself in tryst with the Crown Prince of the Vald Star Empire. Also present are Lt. Sorgman, who is waking up after two weeks, and Ensigns Woods, Rakka, and Georgia. All of them are trapped in the infirmary as Demak’s plot thickens: the planted a hidden program before he departed the station, which was designed to trigger a total station-wide systems lockdown. While they are waiting, Danica’s results come back. She is pregnant with the Vald’s child.

N’tran orders a Yellow Alert, and Deep Space 12 begins trying to recover the systems, and Lt. Kolmik finds the Shipyard to be in a mess. Meanwhile, the medical staff can not leave the infirmary to reach Scott. The LMH Doctor and the Captain devise a plan to leave the infirmary, but the result is the LMH being bounced around different locations throughout the station. However, aide is rendered to Scott when the LMH, by chance, appears in the Runabout parked inside of Landing Pad C. As a further result of the ‘glitch’, the Doctor is able to open a few of the force fields around the station, and people can move more freely again in some areas.

Ken recruits PO1 Welty in an effort to reach Operations. However, an attack on the station commences and the Station suddenly goes dark… the Vald Empire. The computer does resume operation within a few minutes, and the Station goes back online. The program which caused the problems is nowhere to be found. Scanners now show that two Cardassian Warships have joined the Vald in attacking Deep Space 12.

Ken reaches Ops and attempts to assess the situation. The Vald have been joined by Macet and two Galor Class Warships. Crewmen who can reach fighters have departed the station, and aid arrives in the form of the Vulcan ship T’Engora, which is transporting T’Mal back to the Station after a brief sabbatical.
The Cardassian program that continues to control the station’s computer is still causing difficulty. N’tran designs and implements a plan to thwart it, which goes successfully; the Station’s systems are fully restored. Seeing their foe regain status, the Vald Command sends a subspace communication to Ken. Overlord Tonquar demands the return of “a child that has not been born as of yet.” The child in question is Danica’s.

Ken allows Lt. Smithers to be the first to talk with the Overlord. The Vald Overlord and Lt. Smithers come to a cease fire agreement as talks begin, and the U.S.S. Armstrong manages to get inside Deep Space 12’s shield bubble. By now Danica is on her way to Ops to partake in the talks.

An intruder alert sounds! – the Vald have used the time during peace talks to compute a way of breaching the shields and beaming in a party. They intend to capture Danica. Welty springs into action and neutralizes the two Vald invaders.

The U.S.S. Hubble creates a diversion, causing the Vald fleet to back off from the station. The peace talks resume, and Danica agrees that she and the unborn child will accompany the Vald Overlord. This change allows for the Vulcan ships, as well as a few of the other transports, to dock at the station. Peace is brought to the table, and the Station resumes normal activity.

"All Tapped Out"

Deep Space 12 picks up a distress call from the Diplomatic Transport ship, Damocles, which carried various the diplomats of races on their way to deal with the Tholians. This ship is an estimated 11 hours away from Deep Space 12, and Captain Wozniak and Lt. Commander N’tran order a rescue mission. N’tran is given command of the U.S.S. Phantom, and they depart the Station. Meanwhile, negotiation continues between Deep Space 12 and Fimlar from Galen III over the prisoner Taklar.

As the U.S.S. Phantom approaches, it begins sensor sweeps. Two biosigns are picked up from an escape pod launched from the Damocles. The life signs aboard the Damocles itself are near zero. A Vulcan, a diplomatic aide named Tiev, is beamed straight to the sickbay, while the human life form is kept in the transport buffer. The U.S.S. Phantom reverses course and maintains a safe distance from the Damocles, as the ship no longer has enough power for the Warp Core containment field. The Damocles explodes due to antimatter leakage. Lt. Orsis finds a connection between the diplomatic aide Tiev and Mr. Gott, a civilian new to Deep Space 12. The U.S.S. Phantom begins its trip back to the station, as Lt. T’Mal begins the investigation of the wreckage of the Damocles.

Back at the Station, the Vald prisoners are scheduled for transfer to Starfleet Headquarters. The Galen prisoner, Taklar, is released on the condition that he cooperates with Deep Space 12 security forces. Gems recovered from a scuffle on the Promenade have been sent to Science for testing.

Once the U.S.S. Phantom returns to the Station, Commander N’tran answers the request for a detailed review of the gems. A lone gunman, sporting an old style projectile weapon/shotgun (which has little affect on the Horta) later confronts him in the Geology Lab. N’tran and Lt. T’Mal are beamed to the Security Office, where the gems can be better secured. N’tran’s wound is patched up.

The Vulcan survivor awakens, and Captain Wozniak call T’Mal to help with their guest in the infirmary, which is once again having problems with the LMH program. Tiev relays information about the Damocles, stating “One by one, systems started failing. First the lighting, then computer consoles and equipment, then life support itself. Most people were confined to one large room near the very center of the vessel, with Security surrounding them - those of us they were not able to round up in that short time made for the escape pods - the only logical thing left to do. Among Vulcans, I am considered cautious, and at this stage I anticipated the worst and put myself into a meditative trance once I had initiated the escape pod's ejection mechanism. It appears to have succeeded. I can only regret not being able to reach others in order to encourage them to take the same approach - the results may have been far more favorable.” Ken and T’Mal convince the Vulcan to continue the work of the Diplomats.

Later on, Commander N’tran dons grav boots to check out some old repairs done to a railing, and looses control, causing much damage to a shop along the Promenade. He appears to be in an altered mental state and security is called. Ensign Rakka throws Commander in the brig to sleep off his weird ‘condition’.

The Shotgun Bandit, who fired upon Commander N’tran earlier, reappears in the transporter room, demanding to be beamed to the DeForest Kelly Shipyard. When Ensign Black refuses, he is shot. SCPO Fellum appears to handle the chase after the perpetrator. The Shotgun Bandit is identified as a person named Nitti, who makes plans to get back to Deep Space 12 somehow. Security searches for his new location.

Nitti finds a worker bee and sets off back to the station. Ensign Azarlin warns the Captain of the approaching worker bee. SCPO Fellum loses the shadow he was chasing thanks to some unhelpful (or not very bright) workers. Nitti is detained on docking pylon 2 by the security staff, and promptly makes a defiant last stand. It is Azarlin who handles him, taking an inspired action of transporting everything except 20th-century materials from the hatch area to the brig, incarcerating Nitti and at the same time relieving him of his shotgun.

Captain Wozniak visits Commander N’tran in the brig. He revokes his position as XO, but allows him to keep his rank. N’tran is later visited by Ensign Danni Kilaware, acting Chief Counselor. Ensign Kilaware learns a thing or two about Commander N'tran as she tries to talk to him, while Nitti wonders if he could get a 'session' with her. PO Welty arranges for some ore to be delivered to the Horta. N'tran drifts off to sleep and keeps Nitti awake all night. After N'tran offers to go grav-boot-flying with Danni, she wonders if he actually likes being in there. It is determined that two of the 'precious stones' previously thought to be fake turn out to be cuts from something called the Vulcan's Glory, and Nitti was attempting to secure them for the Romulans as revenge. Nitti attempts to con Ensign Kilaware into letting him out of his cell for a moment. N'tran tells her what he has been doing through the night. He also reveals his position as First Officer has been revoked. N'tran also reveals the extent of the failure in the Damocles rescue mission (Nitti thinks the Chief Counselor 'likes him'.)

The station is penciled in for a Baryon sweep, which will require evacuation. Chief O’Brian, from Deep Space 9, will be assisting with the sweep.
